HKSAR Establishment Day – Public Holiday (Hong Kong)

Hong Kong Special Administration Region Establishment Day is celebrated annually on the 1st of July and marks the ending of the British Colonial rule.

Some locals view this as a time to recognise Hong Kong’s independence and to voice their political opinions, whilst others celebrate Chinese patriotism and the economic growth of the country.

Our Hong Kong office is closed today to observe this public holiday but our offices in Malta and the Isle of Man remain open as usual.
